Lawn Care in a Winter Wonderland

Winter is here, and that means that your lawn care gets much easier. There are some things you should remember this season, though. Check out these winter lawn tips from Simply Green Lawn Care to ensure a healthy spring lawn!

    • Keep off the Grass! Winter is a sensitive time for grass. Reduce foot traffic on your lawn as much as you can, especially if you have recently reseeded. Otherwise, you can injure the tender blades.
    • Call Simply Green. We offer a number of services you’ll want for the health of your lawn this winter. The trained professionals on our staff can handle appropriate fertilization so that your roots will grow strong and healthy, as well as the application of pre-emergent or post-emergent to prevent or treat weeds.
    • Keep it Dry. Avoid the temptation to water too much in the winter. In cold climates where there’s danger of freezing, you really don’t need to water at all. Heavy ice is not good for your grass, after all! Even if it doesn’t freeze where you live, reduce the frequency of watering in the winter.
    • Build Compost. Between fall leaves and the extra time before planting, this is a great time to check out our tips for composting and mulching.

With a little extra TLC now, your lawn will be healthy and ready to grow strong in the spring. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to give Simply Green Lawn Care a call! We can put together the best care plan for your lawn.
