Ways To Keep Your Plants Healthy Year-Round

Here at Simply Green Lawn Care, we specialize in keeping plants healthy! Good plant and lawn care require year-round care, not just summertime mowing. In today’s blog post, we’re sharing a few things you can do to keep your plants healthy year-round, and if you’d rather leave the lawn and plant care to the pros, contact our Atlanta team!

lawn aeration

Spring

In the spring, start by aerating and dethatching your lawn. This will help to improve drainage and reduce compaction. Then, apply a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent weeds from taking over. Be sure to fertilize regularly and mow at the proper height — too short and you’ll damage the grass, too tall and it will be more susceptible to disease.

Summer

The hot summer months can be tough on lawns and plants. Keep up with regular watering, fertilizing, and mowing to help your lawn survive the heat. You may also need to treat pests and diseases more frequently during the summer.

raking leaves

Autumn

As the weather cools down in autumn, it’s time to prepare your lawn and garden for winter. Fertilize one last time and rake up any leaves that have fallen. You should also overseed thin areas of your lawn and aerate compacted areas.

mulch

Winter

Although you may not be doing much lawn and plant care during the winter, there are still a few things you can do to prepare for the spring. First, clean up any debris that has accumulated over the winter. Then, apply a layer of mulch to help protect your plants from the cold weather. Finally, prune any dead or damaged branches from your trees and shrubs.

By following these simple tips, you can keep your lawn and garden looking great all year long! IAnd, if you need any help along the way, our team at Simply Green Lawn Care is always here to lend a hand. Contact us today to learn more about our lawn and plant care services!

Have used Simply Green for over a year now for weed control & fertilization. Their service & products have helped improve the appearance & health of my grass in this short time. Taffari has been the technician the last few visits and he is great - super knowledgeable & able to answer my questions. On the last visit Taffari had the service manager reach out on a concern and it was addressed & resolved the same day.
